Oh, I done did all the kid wanted done Left me broken down, not even hoping now, it never comes Got a rum deal, shame I feel, it shakes my bones On a lonely road, it's the only road we'll ever know. So I guess if that's the man I am Well that's the man I'll have to be. I played my hand, jewels in the sand, lost to the wake Caught in the wash so long, hands frozen on the glass I take When darkness falls, a keening waul, undignified Castles tumble down, I stumble now, roadside.

I couldn't see myself, Then one day as the sun fell, Found myself looking at the shadow of a broken man. I couldn't stop myself, From calling time with that old belle, When I heard the ghostly echo of a long lost hopeful man. Now I see what a fool I've been, I must've been blind. I couldn't reach myself, I'd climbed up onto the top shelf, A cheerless caricature of the modern man. Now I see what a fool I've been, I must've been blind. Oh, I won't care if you don't care brother, But if you do then look me in the eye and may you feel the same... I used to like myself, Now I just feel unwell, Seeing I'm just as hopeless, as hapless, as spineless, useless as any other man. And now I see what a fool I've been.

Lazing round, up on Hungry Hill You fed me strawberries, "I'll make you sweeter still" Marquee bar lights, glowing hazy in the heat Falling through July, drunk by the time you'd... This world was ours One Summer gone We rode a sailboat and ran it aground I'd've risked my life for you, when your friends were sat around They took our photograph, young and pretty too August for the taking and taken by us two This world was ours One Summer gone Shade fell colder than laughter-turned-to-smiles Balloon-ride just above, burnt all the words for miles Old-September night, born in a fade-to-black Said you'd see me around, never coming back. Oh this world was ours, One Summer gone.

Well the day is young and teeming with innocent stares And of the sins to be had, well I'll take my share But try as I will to be untrue I can't stop my thoughts from returning to you Now I'm dancing between the lines of this yellowing page I'm twisting in the memoirs of a lascivious age But it really doesn't seem to matter what I do I can't stop my thoughts from returning to you And as I try to walk pain's narrow mile My sorrows are shattered with a merciless smile And I wonder if ever I'll make it through When I can't stop my thoughts from returning to you. And round and about me the willows all weep The road ahead gets mightily steep, boys But I'm happy walking in these old shoes 'Cause with every step, I move closer to you

With You Now 04:46
I've been away, away from here I've been away, away from here I said "so long, and thank you for your company I'll be back again for you my dear" I look a little older, you've been betrayed But cry on my shoulder, I'll lead you astray I've met some good folks, trodden down low I woke this morning, away to go I'm with you now This reputation, was squarely earned Above my station, I've never learned But I felt sure, I was on the right track I'd see you again, feel the sun on my back I'm with you now Close your eyes, I'll see you right I'm with you now
